About Us

Established in March 2009, Linking All So Others Succeed (LASOS) was created by a committed group of concerned community members who were alarmed by the growing number of Harford County’s nonnative English-speaking families in urgent need of basic support and services. The founder, with 37 years of community service and outreach among low income non-English-speaking residents in the community, had experienced firsthand the frustrations of not having easy access to translation, training, and resources. LASOS, the sole organization in the Susquehanna region that serves the immigrant community, currently services over 21,650 residents and is the hub for referral for healthcare, housing, education, legal, economical, and anything else individuals encounter as they acclimate to American society.

LASOS maintains strong fiscal stewardship and diversified funding streams through local, state, and federal partnerships. The organization leverages cost-saving strategies, including AmeriCorps VISTA and Maryland Corps/Service Year members to expand staffing capacity at reduced cost. LASOS staff is incredibly diverse, with the majority of the staff being at least bilingual and six different languages spoken among the staff. Staff are cross-trained to ensure continuity of care, organizational resilience, and leadership succession, supporting a coordinated, whole-family approach.

The Advisory Council serves to provide specialized expertise, expand networks, and act as ambassadors in a non-governing capacity while offering non-binding recommendations to support specific initiatives.

The Board of Directors holds legal and fiduciary responsibility for the organization, including IRS compliance, approving budgets, setting strategic direction, ensuring financial sustainability. Without the support and hard work of our forward thinking and dedicated Board of Directors we could not meet our mission.
