Fortify by LASOS is now open in Edgewood. With the support of the Local Management Board LASOS is able to offer services to all residents of Harford County. The mission is to provide a Community Resource Center as a hub for resources, information and services to strengthen and support the whole community through case management, adult and youth programs, and workforce opportunities.

- After-School Programs

- Uplift for 1st Generation College Students
Academic Tutoring is bustling!! Open to all school children Thursday from 4-6 at the Fortify office in Edgewood. And a second new in school after school program in the Aberdeen area. The sessions are not only rewarding for the youth but also the mentors who come to support!

WINTER WONDERLAND
The 2025 Winter Wonderland event was a joyful celebration filled with holiday spirit, connection, and generosity. Children beamed with excitement as they selected cozy pajamas to wear for school PJ Day and expressed their creativity while decorating festive cookies to enjoy. Families and kids warmed up with cups of hot chocolate, sharing smiles and laughter throughout the day. Each child also received a book to take home, along with a coloring book to enjoy during winter break. Through these meaningful and familiar winter traditions, children were able to feel a sense of belonging, connect with their peers, and experience the magic and joy of the holiday season.
NEW YORK CITY
In December, we took families on a day trip to New York City, giving them the opportunity to explore new places, try new experiences, and spend quality time together. For many families, this trip offered a meaningful break from daily routines and a chance to create lasting memories while enjoying the excitement of the city together.
BUTTERFLY MOMENTS
Our Butterfly Group meets bi weekly to provide young girls with a safe, supportive space to try new activities, build confidence, and learn more about themselves. This week, the girls learned how to decorate cakes, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. Each session offers opportunities for growth, connection, and fun as the girls continue to spread their wings and discover new skills.
TUTORING
Every Monday, our team provides tutoring support for elementary school students, creating a consistent and encouraging space for learning. Students receive help with homework, reading, and foundational skills while building confidence and positive study habits. These weekly sessions give kids the extra support they need to succeed academically and start the week off strong.
